I came across this sad news on Reddit and have now confirmed reports on Kotaku.com that Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata has died. It’s an absolute shock to me cause from all the press conferences I could tell he was getting up in age but not that he was ill. I haven’t paid much attention to the fact that last year Kotako also reported on Iwata undergoing surgery to remove a bile duct growth and apparently that is what led to his untimely death at the age 55. He worked hard for Nintendo as their president since 2002 earning his spot in the hearts of the company’s fans around the world.
